The Exalted Soul - Herald Wade

God has created each person with a unique design. Tragically, sin has altered that design by killing the spirit and promoting the soul. The spirit and soul have a different function and many are attempting to connect to God by engaging their soul instead of a spirit-to-Spirit exchange.

Many today are suffering illnesses because their bodies are rejecting the leadership of the soul. This book will help lead the reader to connecting to God as He intended with their spirit leading, their soul in submission, and their bodies responding with health.

This book is written by a church family member, Herald Wade. He has such a powerful journey. This is definitely one that I will be reading.

WhatIf Monster - Michelle Nelson-Schmidt Collection (6) #Review

As I stated on my facebook post after I opened my package "I am a big believer that EVERYTHING happens for a reason. No matter the circumstances. It just does."

People come and go in your life for a reason as well. Although we may not realize what a small gesture, a simple comment, hug, smile, wave, (or with today's technology) text, "like", share etc. can truly mean to somebody but something that may seem so small, or normal to you can mean something life-changing to another person. This package was that moment for me. It hit my heart right where I needed it, the exact moment I needed it.

As I explained to Wendy. I used to collect unicorns. I started my collection when my Kindergarten teacher gifted me a dollar store unicorn for my birthday as a first grader. She said it reminded her of me because of the decorations it had on it. {Insert imaginary picture of a white unicorn, gold chain with blue pendant. Things that did symbolize my personality and likes}I wish I still had this unicorn to share with you but sadly I do not.

My happy unicorns became a part of a sad memory because I have maybe 5 out of my collection of 200+ remaining. We all have things in our life that make us say "WhatIf?" Right? We never expected to be where we are with our lives, good or bad. But we are! So the "WhatIf Monster" has gotten me good in the past. Really good, so good you probably saw me turn into this exact "WhatIf Monster" a few times {I was probably blue though :D }.

I realized recently, I was discovering my freedom from it and posted this on facebook which is how I came about this package to review. She was kind enough to send me this collection to review and I got it on a night that I was just overwhelmed and brought to tears and then cried some more over the fact that it had a unicorn in it!

My pinkie looks awkward lol
This is such a cute book and it is great for teaching kids self esteem. My kids have loved it and they love that there is a stuffed animal that they can hold and relate to the story! The monster is super soft and and the perfect cuddle size! (see picture above) The illustrations are very bright and colorful!
The questions in the book create conversation between you and your child teaching them that their questions are ok but that the outcome can be positive and to let go of some of those doubts and what if's. The illustrations are great to get their imagination going and in the end after you discuss all the what if's it shows how it can all be ok... This book is great for all children especially as they begin question themselves.

This is a great book about the go-getters, dreamers and hopers! It is truly adorable and a great read for the discouraged to be encouraged! Never give up on your dreams and if you believe, it can happen! My favorite thing about Bob (besides that he is a unicorn) is that the horn can come off! We are going to create a headband with Velcro to attach the horn and become unicorns ourselves.

Paperback $6.99 - Hardback $12.99
Bob is not a unicorn. His friend George knows that. So does Stella. And Ted, and Larry.
In fact, it’s definite: Bob is not a unicorn.
Or is he?

Bob is a unicorn and an elephant.  This soft, cuddly plush toy goes from elephant to unicorn with the help of a Velcro-attached horn, for play time, imagination time ... anytime!

Look at all the dogs out there! Little, sad, pretty lazy, fast, dirty - there are as many different dogs as there are kids! Which one are you like? Check the mirror in the back of the book to see. Are you shaggy? Stubborn? Or just doggone happy to have a new dog book to share?

Pierre The Penguin: A True Story - Book Review

When Pierre, an African penguin living at the California Academy of Sciences, begins to lose his feathers, the zoo staff is at a loss as to what to do.

The lack of feathers causes Pierre to lose warmth, making him afraid to swim in the zoo pool. And the other penguins start to shy away, giving Pierre the "cold" shoulder. Unfortunately, heaters and medications fail to correct the situation.
Author: Jean Marzollo
Illustrator: Laura Regan
Published by Sleeping Bear Press

US. $15.95 / CAN. $17.95

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to review this book thanks to the giveaway by Andrea M. of Mommy PR which I won. This giveaway was sponsored by Sleeping Bear Press.

We have had this book for about a month and half and I was meaning to review it way sooner but tonight we were organizing books and my kids have been on a book kick lately. They don't quite know how to read yet but love to use their imagination and make up a story as they read.

Well tonight I sat down with them to read the book and as I am reading my son is making up his own story. As you see in the book info that Pierre, am African Penguin, had lost his feathers, shivered evertime he swam and his poor little booty was so bare.

Pam, the peguin keeper, noticed and made efforts to help. Through out the story they handmake him a tiny wetsuite and when we got to the page that showed then drawing it out my son, Desmond, said she took the penguin home to play dress up. I couldn't help but laugh and take a little break from the true readings to let him continue with his own story..

After finishing Pierre the Penguin book, I had to turn my attention to my daughter and re-read it. Even my non-attentive daughter loved it!

At the time that the giveaway was being offered my son was BIG into penguins and other water animals. So when he saw that I was entering the giveaway (or ordering a book online as he says lol) he was super excited. When it came in the mail he was SO overly excited that he immediately took it and read it. Reading it together as a family tonight has definately reinspired he love for penguins..

FYI, there is a great Teacher/Parent guide that you can use to discuss the book with your child after reading, to jog their memory (or yours lol)..

Mama Never Told Me Review - Emily Van Do

You know my "Mama Never Told Me" either... So not cool...  But who could blame mom for not wanting to tell all the crazy things people say and do to a pregnant woman during the 9 months of discomfort, swelling and all the other body changes??
YES, my belly, boobs, butt, hips, thighs and even my cankles grew in size but could you be any nicer to tell me so?

I know you have had someone say one of these crazy things to you during your pregnancy. If not you are one of the lucky preggers who was blessed with nice friends, family and strangers. LOL

I remember someone telling me my ankles were swollen when I was pregnant. I was working at a daycare at the time, it was about 2pm (AFTER a 7 hour shift so far) and all the kids were surrounding us waiting to go out for play time.  Two other teachers and one other parent was right there and she just says "Wow girl, your ankles are really swollen." This happened to be the one day that I DID swell up more obvious than the rest of my pregnancy

( Just so happened to be the same day I had to go get a new ID because I lost my wallet.. UGH pregnancy brain.
ID pictured to prove my swelling lol )

but being a "thick" mama I replied with "Actually they aren't. Thats the normal size of my ankles".
Now, it was horrible for me to admit my ankles were normal size when they were actually doubled but the look on her face and the well-deserved apology I got from her was PRICELESS!! I would do it again and you should too lol

This is just ONE episode of the crazy things people said to me while pregnant with one of my 3 kiddos... You should see the things Emily had posed to her while being a working, pregnant mom.

This book is a GREAT read for the pregnant mom who needs to find the humor in the mean things we hear.
