WhatIf Monster - Michelle Nelson-Schmidt Collection (6) #Review

As I stated on my facebook post after I opened my package "I am a big believer that EVERYTHING happens for a reason. No matter the circumstances. It just does."

People come and go in your life for a reason as well. Although we may not realize what a small gesture, a simple comment, hug, smile, wave, (or with today's technology) text, "like", share etc. can truly mean to somebody but something that may seem so small, or normal to you can mean something life-changing to another person. This package was that moment for me. It hit my heart right where I needed it, the exact moment I needed it.

As I explained to Wendy. I used to collect unicorns. I started my collection when my Kindergarten teacher gifted me a dollar store unicorn for my birthday as a first grader. She said it reminded her of me because of the decorations it had on it. {Insert imaginary picture of a white unicorn, gold chain with blue pendant. Things that did symbolize my personality and likes}I wish I still had this unicorn to share with you but sadly I do not.

My happy unicorns became a part of a sad memory because I have maybe 5 out of my collection of 200+ remaining. We all have things in our life that make us say "WhatIf?" Right? We never expected to be where we are with our lives, good or bad. But we are! So the "WhatIf Monster" has gotten me good in the past. Really good, so good you probably saw me turn into this exact "WhatIf Monster" a few times {I was probably blue though :D }.

I realized recently, I was discovering my freedom from it and posted this on facebook which is how I came about this package to review. She was kind enough to send me this collection to review and I got it on a night that I was just overwhelmed and brought to tears and then cried some more over the fact that it had a unicorn in it!

My pinkie looks awkward lol
This is such a cute book and it is great for teaching kids self esteem. My kids have loved it and they love that there is a stuffed animal that they can hold and relate to the story! The monster is super soft and and the perfect cuddle size! (see picture above) The illustrations are very bright and colorful!
The questions in the book create conversation between you and your child teaching them that their questions are ok but that the outcome can be positive and to let go of some of those doubts and what if's. The illustrations are great to get their imagination going and in the end after you discuss all the what if's it shows how it can all be ok... This book is great for all children especially as they begin question themselves.

Whenever Jonathan James finds himself in a new situation, he hears his Whatif Monster asking all kind of questions to stop him trying something new: What if it’s scary? What if they laugh? What if it’s hard?  Finally, Jonathan James has some questions of his own: What if they don’t? What if it isn’t? What then?

This is a great book about the go-getters, dreamers and hopers! It is truly adorable and a great read for the discouraged to be encouraged! Never give up on your dreams and if you believe, it can happen! My favorite thing about Bob (besides that he is a unicorn) is that the horn can come off! We are going to create a headband with Velcro to attach the horn and become unicorns ourselves.

Paperback $6.99 - Hardback $12.99
Bob is not a unicorn. His friend George knows that. So does Stella. And Ted, and Larry.
In fact, it’s definite: Bob is not a unicorn.
Or is he?

Bob is a unicorn and an elephant.  This soft, cuddly plush toy goes from elephant to unicorn with the help of a Velcro-attached horn, for play time, imagination time ... anytime!

Look at all the cats out there! Which cat are you? Fluffy, nosy, timid or big? Check the mirror in the back of the book to find your feline face! Are you sleepy, brave or sneaky? There's a purrfect adjective for everyone!

paperback $5.99
hardback $12.99
Look at all the dogs out there! Little, sad, pretty lazy, fast, dirty - there are as many different dogs as there are kids! Which one are you like? Check the mirror in the back of the book to see. Are you shaggy? Stubborn? Or just doggone happy to have a new dog book to share?

Which book do you think you would like best? Can you relate to the WhatIf Monster?
